Race Report - Calabogie Classic

OBC Racing Team 1st, 1st, 1st...

The racing team peformed admirably today in Calabogie for the Calabogie Classic presented by Cyclelogik. In challenging conditions on a fast course where it is difficult to get away, plans kept changing and racers had to adapt.

Of special note is Andrew Lattimore winning the Senior 3/Junior race in a solo escape; Andrew has received permission to race up a category in Ontario to keep the challenges coming.

Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour registrations

All accepted registrations have been entered and all confirmation letters have been sent out April 15th. If you do not have received your letter by April 21st, please contact the club office.

No registrations are being held, late arrivals have been returned and no waiting list is being maintained. Riders wishing to privately buy or sell Rideau Lakes entries can use the RLCT Buy and Sell forum. Please notify the Club Office of any transactions.

OBC Racing awarded grant from GM and CAC

We are pleased to announce that the racing program has received a grant on behalf of General Motors and the Coaching Association of Canada for their Making Dreams Possible program.

This provides us with the opportunity to further develop coaching capacity within the club and community. If any member has any inquiries for coaching development and how you can help out racing and youth development, please inquire to the Racing Director.

Reliability Ride - April 29th

The Reliability Ride is this Sunday April 29th starting from St. George Cemetery. Registration will start at 9:30 am with the ride starting at 10:00 am. Please note that parking is limited at the cemetery, so riders are encouraged to park at Billing Bridge and ride to the cemetery - a short 8 km warm-up ride. The groups of Sunday tour riders will ride to the cemetery and continue on to either of the three regular tour destinations.

MTB Team Intro Meeting April 18th

The 2007 race season is almost upon us. This season the OBC is proud to be supporting a mountain bike team.

The team kick off meeting will be held on Wednesday April 18th in the meeting room below the club office at 7pm. This will be an info session where we can discuss the summer and how the program will work.

Urgent - Last minute spots available for Virginia Tour

We just received 3 cancellations for the Virginia Tour which starts in 2 days.

If any one can go on such short notice, they should leave a message at the Club office by noon Thursday with a contact number. Spots are available for one male and one couple.

Paris-Roubaix Cyclosportif April 22nd

Paris-Roubaix Cyclosportif April 22nd

About 73 km of mud, gravel, sand, sawdust, switchbacks, mudpits, potholes, rocks, washouts and, yes, smooth pavement have been in preparation all winter for the annual Paris-Roubaix Cyclosportif, April 22nd. We are looking for volunteer marshals for this event. Please contact the race organizers if you are able to help. Race details and contact information are on the Paris-Roubaix page.

Group Riding Clinic - April 7th

The first Group Riding Clinic of the season is Saturday April 7th, 9am at the Experimental Farm. Clinics will be run most Saturdays until June 30th.

The club office will be closed over the Easter weekend.
