Spring Reliability Ride May 2nd

The Reliability Ride is this Sunday May 2nd starting from St. George Cemetery. Registration will start at 9:30 am with the ride starting at 10:00 am. Please note that parking is limited at the cemetery, so riders are encouraged to park at Billings Bridge and ride to the cemetery - a short 8 km warm-up ride. The groups of Sunday tour riders will ride to the cemetery and continue on to either of the three regular tour destinations. See the reliability ride page for details.

Yes, volunteers are the life blood of the Ottawa Bicycle Club. It could not operate without them and they have always come through. About eighty persons will be needed for the upcoming Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour, June 5 & 6, most of them in Ottawa for a few hours, others in Perth, Kingston and en route.

Confirmation packages have been sent out to all registered riders April 23rd. After May 5th, Rosmarie in the club office will try and assist with people wanting to sell their registrations and people looking for last minutes spots.

2010 Open Time Trial Series starts May 6th

The regular season starts Thursday, May 6th and continues every Thursday evening until September 9th

The course is a 15 km out-and-back following the Eastern Parkway from near the Aviation Museum to the turnaround near Montreal Rd and finishes just opposite the start line. Parking and registration are in the Aviation Museum parking lot . This year, we're looking forward to fresh, fast, smooth pavement! 

2010 Women’s Time Trial Series starts May 4th

The Women's time trial series, now in its 22nd year, starts Tuesday, May 4th and continues every Tuesday evening until August 31st. 

This is a safe, supportive and social introduction to bike racing. All women riders are welcome - no experience required. New riders receive an information kit, and can tap into the wealth of experience - some of the country's fastest time trialists come out!

Bike Fitting by Mary Paterson owner of BIKE 2 BODY . Doors open at the Naval Officers' Mess at 7:00pm. Cost is $3 per person for use of the facility. Inexpensive cash bar. All are welcome including non-OBC guests.

Learn to Ride Team (L2RT) for Riders Aged 6-14 Starts Its 2nd Season on April 10th.

For a second year running the OBC L2RT will begin practices on Saturday April 10th at 9:00 a.m. at the Asticou Complex and Gatineau Park P1 parking lot.  

The goal of the L2RT is to introduce cycling to youth aged 6-14 and to develop a lifelong love for cycling.

The team practices for two hours weekly from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and teaches skills by playing games, riding obstacle/skills courses, practicing mini-crits, and going on group rides.  

Riders are required to be members of the OBC and the fee for a youth membership is $30.

Just in time for warm weather, the 2010 touring program starts April 4th, 9am at Billings Bridge.  The Tuesday evening program starts April 6th, and the Saturday program starts May 1st. Full schedules are available on the Day Tours page.  Or below:
