The Joy of SECT

The Joy of SECT

Last year, many riders were asked by one of the organizers to write an article  "talking up" the Summer's End Century Tour. The reason for the unusual request is because registration numbers have been falling, and last year (September 2009) saw a low ebb. The fact is, the SECT is in danger of dropping off the OBC's rota of touring events. And that would be a shame.

The 39th Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour will be one to be remembered

The 39th Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour will be one to be remembered

This year's Tour will be remembered for different reasons. It was the Tour that showed riders that...

- nothing should ever been taken for granted;
- Mother Nature still has the last word ;
- rain + cold + wind = a bad combination, take any one of the three out of the equation and it becomes tolerable;
- not everyone reads the instructions sent to them in advance of the Tour or received on the 1st day;
- not everyone knows the way to Kingston;
- acts of selflessness do still occur.

RLCT 2010 - Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors

RLCT 2010 - Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors

The Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour has come and gone for another year. This tour, the 39th, will likely be more memorable than others for many reasons. For me, it is the tireless help of all our volunteers who stepped forward and gave of their time to make this the continuing successful event that it is. This in the face of challenging circumstances on Sunday.

Thanks again,

Chris Borzecki,
Chair, RLCT Committee
