Cancelled: Tuesday Evening Ride June 25th from Hylands Golf Course

Environment Canada has issued a special weather bulletin warning of the potential for severe thunderstorms, hail and torrential rain this evening in the area of the planned route from Hylands Golf OCurse to Baxters' Corners. Based on the 16h30 Environment Canada bulletin and the Franktown weather radar, we are cancelling the ride tonight.

2013 Rideau Lakes Cycling Tour Thanks

2013 Rideau Lakes Cycling Tour Thanks

Another great success for the 2013 Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour. Thanks to everyone for making it all work as planned.

40km TT - August 18th

The 40km distance is the gold standard distance for TT riders. We in the Ottawa area are spoiled with a number of chances to test ourselves over 40km, with offerings by both the Almonte club and the OBC.

The next date (watch the OBC website for changes) for the OBC 40km TTs is

August 18th

If there is interest (and, more importantly, volunteers!!!!), we could have a 40 km TT in September. The "problem" is that September is getting full: Sept 1st = Labour day weekend, 8th = ABC 40km TT, 15th = SECT, 22 appears to be free, 29 = usually the start of cross season).

The OBC 40km course is the same as the past few years (Heckston). Full details are on-line.

OBC Grand Prix - July 13th

Registration is now closed for the 2013 OBC Grand Prix

Comfirmed Rider List is HERE

Come test your legs against the pack and the Gatineau Park loop at Ottawa's premier road race. All of the race details are on the Grand Prix  webpage. Not racing - come on out anyways and watch some of Canada's top riders battle it out for the win! Or even better, be a part of the team that puts the race together!

Volunteers Needed!

Putting on the race is a team effort - I still need a few more helpers for the day of the race. I need help in two areas - course marshals and support vehicles (and drivers) Please consider helping your club's main racing event! If you are available Saturday morning, please email me Peter Tregunno or Andrew at the club office

Thanks in advance!

Peter Tregunno
