The Prince Edward County (PEC) wine and ride tour September 27th - 29th

As with previous years, we will be staying at the Jackson Falls School House http://jacksonsfalls.com/packages.html for a weekend of riding, and enjoying the culinary delights of this picturesque part of Ontario. The rides will vary from less than 100K to the longer distance 160K (for those of you are going to bypass the vineyards). A light dinner will be offered for the Friday night and a fully catered meal with wine pairings for the Saturday evening - wine will be available but if your taste runs to beer or spirits, remember to BYOB as this is a B&B. This tour has a current limit of 22 spaces based on double occupancy, however several of the rooms can accommodate three if you have a group.

Tuesday Evening Ride - July 23rd

Although the start location for Tuesday's ride will remain as planned at the Science & Technology Museum, parking at the museum is no longer free.  I suggest you park at Elmvale Shopping Centre and ride to the start, or park at one of the nearby lots in the industrial park off Lancaster Rd.  See you Tuesday!

Summer's End Tour to Mont Tremblant - September 14th - 15th

Plans for the September weekend to Mont Tremblant are finally complete.

As announced earlier, the dates are September 14 & 15.

After driving Rte 323 north of Montebello to Mont Tremblant, I have concluded the route is unsafe for most cyclists and have settled on a remote start from St Remi d'Amherst, an hour and a half drive from Ottawa. The town has agreed to provide free parking for all the cars we will need.

OBC July BBQ DATE CHANGE - Saturday July 20th

Don't forget the annual OBC BBQ with a new date of Saturday July 20th at Vincent Massey Park (North West Corner of Heron and Riverside Dr.) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Charcoal broiled sausages or veggie burgers, and refreshments will be served. Whether you ride or not, please feel free to join other OBC members in the shade of the trees in the cool breeze.
