RLCT Update

Road Construction 9th Line

Please note that the 9th Line road is undergoing major construction. Intermittent gravel sections start just past Ashton. Please use extra caution cycling in this area.

RLCT Event Communication

Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) members provide end-to-end radio communications along the Classic Route and at the Perth Curling Club. They will have members in the vehicles of most route officials.

The countdown to the 43rd RCLT is on!

Everyone's been busy preparing. Riders out training, volunteers signing up and Tour Committee members working on final details. Algonquin College, Perth Township, Queens University and the Township of Rideau Lakes are now ready for the arrival of over 2000 enthusiastic riders. The RLCT is truly a community event. See this reminder on CBC News urging motorists to be mindful of cyclists.

Some key maps:

1) Saturday morning check-out at Algonquin College is at the Student Residence (D). Parking is free but drivers are reminded to park in the red parking lot 8 only. Please do not leave your car in any other parking lot for the weekend. - See the Algonquin College On-line map.

All parking regulations will be strictly enforced. It's easy to avoid the unpleasantness and personal expenses of tickets, tow aways, etc.

2) New Finish Area at Queen's University,  Agnes Benidickson Field which is located just off of University Avenue (between Union and Stuart). See the Google Map.

3) Route maps are available on-line, including links to the maps on ridewithgps.com as well as pre-downloaded .gpx files and PDF cue sheets.   See the RLCT Route Maps page. Maps and cue sheets will also be available Saturday morning.

I wish everyone taking part in this year's Tour a safe, rewarding and fun-filled weekend.

Susanne Reid - Director, RLCT
