Vermont Inn to Inn Tour- August 3rd to August 9th

This is a two inn tour that will also take us into the foothills of the White Mts of New Hampshire within sight of Mt Washington. About 30 riders usually attend this tour that will stay at the Quechee Inn near Woodstock, VT and Thayers Inn in Littleton, NH.

Additional information and application forms are on the Vermont Tours page.

Vermont Weekend - July 31st to August 3rd

We will be returning to Brandon, VT for the long August weekend for three nights. Driving time from Ottawa should be about 5 hours. If you haven't cycled in Vermont, you're missing some of the best cycling anywhere. The weekend in Brandon is reasonably priced, in a very nice inn in an interesting little town, and offers a wide variety of beautiful rides.

Additional information and application forms are on the Vermont Tours page.

Spring Thing 2015 - May 24th "Picnic"

Something new for this time of year!  We are planning a country feast at Manotick Watson's Mill.  Sunday's rides will conveniently pass through Manotick - drop by during your ride or just come and socialize.  We look forward to seeing you!

OBC Annual Garage Sale & New Member's Night - Wednesday, May 20th

This is a reminder for the 'must social event of the year'!  Come to the OBC Garage Sale where cycling related shopping for deals is amazing.  Over the years I have picked up some dandy deals, including a set of 1019 Alexrims wheels that included tires, tubes, and the gear cluster for $65 (perfect for the backup bike), a World Cycling Tour cycling jersey for $3 (easily an $80 deal), assorted sets of cycling socks (in the package) for a $1 a pair, and a $7 bicycle that my son still rides to and from school.  If you have anything, and I mean ANYTHING related to cycling, grab a spot at a table and put it for sale and see what happens.  Come for the deals and stay for the fun.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the HMCS Bytown Officers' Mess (Naval) at 78 Lisgar, just across the street from the south entrance to Ottawa City Hall.  Look for the anchor on the lawn.  Get there early for free parking on the east side of the building.  Ring the door bell for access to the 3rd floor lounge.  Members and non-members are welcome!

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu - July 24th to July 26th

Once again, Mme Boucher-Boutin will be hosting us at the Auberge Harris in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu for our Friday and Saturday night stay. The terrain is not 'dramatic'--to the south and west of the immediate area it is flat to slightly rolling farmland becoming increasingly more rolling the further east you go. If you're really adventurous, there's a optional, remote-start, route (with a $5-$15 uplift for transport) commencing in northern Vermont (passport alert!), going south through the middle of Lake Champlain and back north via either the Vermont or New York shore of Lake Champlain; we'll vote.

More information and application forms on the Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu page.

Billings Bridge Sunday rides cancelled

Sunday rides are cancelled because of the risk of thunderstorms. Members are welcome to organize their own rides to Manotick and beyond keeping in mind that they will not be official OBC rides.
See next week and Happy Mothers Day.
