For the third year this tour will be returning to the Auberge Harris in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu for our Friday and Saturday night stay - July 15-17, 2016. Once again, we will be hosted at the Auberge by Mme Boucher-Boutin who will provide us with facilities for early arrival on Friday and late departure on Sunday for those who want to get in extra rides at the start or finish of our tour. The Auberge has a beautiful outdoor pool for relaxation following an exhilarating ride or even in lieu of a ride on one of the 3 days. The Auberge is designed to accommodate cycling groups. Check out their website for more information.

Vermont Tours 2016 - Application forms now available

Long prized for great cycle routes, good roads and interesting accommodation, Vermont has been a popular OBC tour destination. Over the years we have visited all corners of Vermont as well as excursions into the neighbouring states. The Club offers two Vermont tours. The "Vermont Weekend" scheduled for the long weekend at the beginning of August includes three nights' accommodation and meals. This year we plan to return to the Brandon Inn in Brandon VT. The second OBC Vermont tour, the "Vermont Inn-to-Inn", takes place immediately after the Vermont Weekend. This is a weeklong tour (six nights' accommodation and meals). Originally the group moved to a new inn almost every day using the club van to transport everyone's gear. The increasing popularity of this tour made it very difficult to find inns willing to accommodate a large group for only one night. In 2011 the format changed to spending three nights at two different inns. This year the tour will stay at two inns - one in Northern Massachusetts and one in southern New Hampshire.

Application forms now available on the Vermont Tours page.

Finger Lakes Tour June 24 – 26, 2016 - Application forms now available

The Finger Lakes (New York) area is known for its quiet, rolling roads with picturesque scenes in every direction. We will be staying at Inn at the Finger Lakes in Auburn, NY for our Friday & Saturday, June 24 & 25th weekend. It's a short 4 hour drive from Ottawa. The cycling routes offer panoramic views of lakes Owasco, Skaneateless, and Otisco. While many roads are quiet, they also tend to be quite hilly, similar to riding in the Gatineaus.

Application forms now available on the Finger Lakes page.

Holiday Weekend - Office Closed

The office will be closed this Easter weekend, and back to regular hours next Wednesday, March 30th.  Enjoy your weekend everybody!

Good Friday Time Trial - Friday, March 25th

The Good Friday TT is scheduled for this Friday (March 25). Registration between 9:30 and 10:30, first rider off at 11am. Free for OBC members (with proof of 2016 membership), $30 for members of other OCA affiliated clubs and UCI license holders.

Note that the forecast is showing snow on Thursday into Friday. Snow on the road is one of the only reasons why we'd cancel the TT. I'll be watching the weather closely, and I'll post a final go/no-go by 8 am Friday.

Volunteers - our TT series NEEDS people to help out. The minimum contingent is a holder, a starter, a turn around marker, a timer and a recorder. If you're not ready to TT (this is an early Good Friday year...), please consider coming out and helping. Without enough volunteers, there will be no TT!!!
