"I can't believe how good the cycling is here!"
It's back. This will be the 12th running of the tour and its fourth (yes fourth!) accommodation. We're back at the Mountain Brook Lodge, hosted by the same colourful and unique host. Still it's the same great season, same great locale. So dust off your climbing gears...

Due to the 2 week weather delay in the start of our cycling season, we are extending the registration closing date from June 1 to June 13th for the Lac Saint-Jean Saguenay Tour.

This Sunday Ride departure and routes have been changed from Moussette Park to Hilton Garden Inn to avoid any conflict with the Ottawa Race weekend marathon road closures Sunday morning. The departure will be from the Hilton Garden Inn on Alert Rd near the Ottawa International Airport. The Moussette Park departure will take place later in the season.

Just a reminder that we have five 10km Women's Time Trials this month, which is unusual. Next Tuesday we will still be at the parking lot about 2.5km east of the Aviation Museum for a 10km route. Beginning in June, we will be meeting at the Aviation Museum for 15km time trials. Hope to see you ladies there!

The OBC 'Spring Thing'! is the invention of André Gauthier, our day tour director, with the intent of giving those cyclists getting ready for the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour another reason to get out there and train. Please cruise by to take part in the 'Build Your Own Sandwich' event complete with Panini presses to heat up your creation.

Just a quick reminder of the OBC Social Wednesday, May 11th! I was at the first Group Riding Clinic of the year and there were over 60 enthusiastic new members taking the course at the Experimental Farm. Let's hope many of you who went on the 16th can come to this OBC event as well. Of course, all are welcome, returning members, and non-members as well. For those of you that just like to browse, come on down. If you wish to unload your cycling and/or sports related stuff, please feel free to grab a space at a table and sell, sell, sell!
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the HMCS Bytown Officers' Mess (Naval) at 78 Lisgar, just across the street from the south entrance to Ottawa City Hall. Look for the anchor on the lawn. Get there early for free parking on the east side of the building. There is a cash bar.
We look forward to seeing you!
George Gonis - OBC Social Director

This Sunday's ride departure is a remote start from the Hilton Garden Inn, at 2400 Alert Rd, near the Ottawa International airport. There is no departure from Billings Bridge. Do not park your vehicles in the Hilton parking lot; Park, instead, in lot E3 adjacent to the Inn on Thad Johnson Drive. There will be signs to indicate where to leave your vehicles. See the OBC calendar for more details.
