The club Newsletter, The Spokesperson, provides an open forum for club announcements, activities, and for members to share their cycling interests.
The Spokesperson is distributed by e-mail to all OBC members as part of their membership benefits using the e-mail address specified on their OBC membership application. The eNewsletter is also posted to the club website , facebook, twitter and the club forum.

FREE submissions include touring stories, race results, letters, articles, pictures, announcements, and just about anything related to cycling except commercial advertising. Members (and non-members) are invited to submit such material for publication in The Spokesperson. We prefer submissions using e-mail attachments directly to the editor but you can also drop your item off at the club office during regular office hours.
Format of submissions in order of preference:
- e-mail text
- Google Document. If you are including images with your submission, please embed them in the Google Document as full width images within the document
- other word processing software formats (Word) If you are including images with your word document, please *do not* embed them in your article. Instead, send them separately as attachments and at full resolution
We ask that your submission be kept to 800-900 words.
Submissions in either English or French are welcome, but please consider that the majority of club members speak English as a first language.
Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate submissions within the specified deadline. If, for whatever reason, your submission cannot be included in a particular issue, it will be retained for later publication. Your submission may be checked for spelling and grammatical errors but please make an effort to do this yourself before submission. Articles may also be edited for length or reformatted to fit available space.

The submission deadline for each issue is the 23rd of the month. The newsletter will be distributed on the 1st of each month.
Items of a commercial nature are considered advertising and will only be used if submitted as such. Commercial paid advertising is accepted in various sizes. See our Advertising Rates for details. Additional details regarding commercial postings are available from the office admin.
