Everything happens for a reason. Hear it straight from Lucy, how she did it and why she did it.
At 6 p.m. on March 12, 2021, Lucy climbed onto her bike, which was connected to her trainer, and started pedalling. She kept pedalling for 24 hours. At 6 p.m. the following day, she set a distance record of 812 kilometers for the Guinness World Record. The existing world record before her was 680 km.
Lucy has a strong running track background, where she has stood on podiums at the provincial and national levels. An RBC Training Grounds athlete in women's cycling, she has been identified as having the potential to represent Canada at the 2024 Olympics in cycling.
