Women's Time Trials

Our last Tuesday Women’s Time Trials (WTT) in 2021 

Swipe right for our exciting #tuesdates!  This will be our last WTT event in the series. 
 
Who: OBC women and youth members.  
When: Tuesday, September 14, starting at 6:00 pm 
Where: Meet us at the Aviation Museum parking lot (11 Aviation Parkway) for final instructions. Please arrive before 6:00 p.m.

Women-only rides

Wednesdays & Thursdays & a Sunday 

On Wednesdays, we go on flats…on Thursdays, we go on heels, and on a Sunday, we saunter out of town ! 

Wednesdays on flats… 

Who: OBC women members 
 
When: Wednesday, September 15, 2021 starting promptly at 5:00 p.m. (because the days are getting shorter!) 
 
Where will we meet: Strathcona Parking lot on Range Road at Somerset Strathcona Park: 45.429582085457554, -75.67323334479988 

Where will we go: Pink Lake Loop: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37126240  (~39 kilometres), mostly urban cycling along bike paths. This is a no-drop ride.

Thursdays on hills 

Who: OBC women members 
 
When: Thursdays, September 16 & 23 (likely our last***), starting promptly at 5:30 p.m. Please arrive before 5:30 p.m. 
 
Where will we meet: P3 parking lot (Gamelin), Gatineau hills (***note that the Gatineau hills parkways are closed to motor vehicle traffic on Thursday evenings, but only until September 24).  
 
Where will we go: a shorter and easier loop! This is a no-drop ride.

A Sunday out of town/remote start !!! 

Who: OBC women members 
 
When: Sunday, September 19, 9:15 a.m. (approximate duration: 3+hours) 
 
Where will we meet (note: out of town/remote start): Wilfred Murray Park, 1115 Dunning Rd, Cumberland Ontario.  Please arrive before 9:15 a.m. 

Where will we go: Cumberland Loop which is ~56 km (with 2 ferry crossings @ $2 per crossing. Important: remember to bring some toonies for the ferries!). Oh, what fun!

Route description: Travel east along quiet roads from Cumberland around Rockland to the Clarence-Thurso ferry. Cross the Ottawa River on the ferry and stop for lunch at Subway in Thurso. Return to Cumberland along quiet roads, through Buckingham and by crossing back over the Ottawa River on the Masson-Cumberland ferry. 
 
Pace: average 25kph; this is a no-drop ride.

Wednesday Night Loops

Loop with Mark St -Jean. Come join us for a traditional loop of the park. Meet at the front of the Gatineau Park Map at P3. This is an open ride. Mark will lead a Sportif around the park but everyone is welcome to ride at their own pace however there will be no sweep or broom wagon.

Our last few days for this event! While the event is drawing to a close, j-Ride can remain open so you can enjoy the selection of quality rides for the rest of the cycling season.

Our unique self-directed 50for50 event, offered for the first time in 2021, runs until September 14. To date, forty seven 50for50 rides have been completed, 3 members won our favourite route contest, 11 members won prizes for various categories in the month of June, and 18 members won prizes for the month of July. Earning a prize is as easy as sharing photos or stories, or participating in our fun scavenger hunts!
