Time Trial Volunteer Schedule

The success of the Open Time Trial Series is based on the dedication of Volunteers who help with the various tasks required to make these events fun for everyone.

A typical Time Trial Squad consists of between 6 and 8 people and involves approximately 2-2.5 hrs per event. Events with fewer than 4 volunteers will be cancelled due to organizational and safety considerations.

Volunteer Tasks

Registration

  • Set-up and take down of registration table
  • Coordinate registration forms
  • Register participants
  • Establish Seed Order

Holder

  • Distributes Numbers for Start Order
  • Ensure riders start in correct order
  • Assists riders by holding bike in standing position at start of race

Marshal

  • Coordinates turnaround point in the race
  • Ensure participants are following TT Rules and Ontario Highway Traffic Act
  • Communicate with Coordinator if a safety hazard or accident occurs.

Time Keepers

  • Reviews TT Rules with Participants
  • Time and Record Race Results

Tour Leader

  • Assists with Registration of First Time Time Trial Participants
  • Provides instructional assistance to first-time Time Trial participants.
