We can always use more ride leaders. So, if you are an experienced and active touring rider, consider volunteering as a ride leader.
To help new leaders get started, OBC offers Ride Leaders Training. This classroom-style session gives you the tools and information you need to lead touring rides with confidence.
What Happens at a Ride Leaders Training Session?
This is a presentation-style session that lasts about 2 hours. It also includes time for questions and group discussion.
Topics include:
First, the role of a ride leader
Next, how to plan and organize a ride
Also, ride organization and registration
Then, how to handle mechanical, medical, and other issues
In addition, what resources you can use
Preparing for a ride
What to do at the start of a ride
What to do during the ride
What to do after the ride
Finally, basic group riding behaviours

Location: we have run sessions virtually in the past. However, we may also offer in-person sessions. The calendar entry will confirm the format and details.
